I have a 1900 local cover addressed to A.M Brodziak, Suva with a manuscript cancel N.S. 3/7/00. Does anyone know which office or agency this might have come from? There are no other postal markings. I would appreciate any comments.

Thanks for the picure.

Here's your picture @300%, cropped to the stamp, and one I have. Both have been adjusted to attempt to show the writing. With a bit of imagination they could be from the same hand. Both are to Brodziak. As to what the initials are I leave to you and others to decide.

Many thanks David. I suppose if we had the Colonial Postmasters lists referred to in J.G. Rodgers book we might find one with the initials NS. Otherwise it looks like remaining a mystery?

I have a copy of Rodger's book and have looked at the list of postmasters. Unfortunately none of them have the initials NS. The closest is M. Simmons, who was PM at Malau from July to November 1911.

Thanks. It looks like this will remain a mystery.
