Probably nothing new to long term Cook Is collectors but thought I should just put on record that I have the 10cents stamp with a really heavy offset of the overprint on the gummed side. Also from the same source is a pair with the offset variety but additionally one of the stamps is the thin overprint. Does anyone know how many times the thin overprint occurs within the sheet?

According to the 1971 SG Elizabethan Catalogue the 10c surcharge was printed on half sheets, that is, 80 (8 x 10) layout. The variety thin figures "10" and "c" occurs in rows 3/4, 5/5, 9/8, or three times in a sheet of 80. 44,109 copies of the 10c were sold, or about 551 sheets. That would indicate that 1653 stamps with the thin overprint were sold.

I am not aware of any modern catalogue listing these varieties.
